There is an interesting application in new Nokia models as N-Series and E-Series which may help you to get new software for your smartphone easily : Nokia Catalogs. Nokia Catalogs will bring new utilities software easily to your mobile phone, but also you can browse the Software marketplace available and possibly purchase commercial software or games available. Nokia Catalogs require internet connection available, so after running the application it will retrieve the latest available software for your Nokia model :

 I check it from time to time when I heard that some new softwares are available, for example I heard recently about the Nokia Barcode reader, which is a crazy application taking profit from your mobile camera to read barcodes. So from the previous screenshot I checked the Nokia Extra applications and found a great list of utilities and imaging software, as I have named the Nokia Barcode reader, there is also the antivirus F-Secure, Islamic Organizer, Quick Office,  SMS Accelerator, Setting Wizard, Wireless Keyboard Manager, and Zip Manager.

Applications are in two categories for my N80, the smartphone category and Imaging categories. I have most of them installed beside the Barcode reader, and the Islamic Organizer. The imaging section is poor in software, there is only LifeBlog Mobile which should be preinstalled on most new Nokia models.

Install depend on the application size, so be careful when you install software don't forget your internet bandwidth. Some providers give special offers for 20MB for example but extra traffic cost much higher. So if you don't prefer to download from your mobile, this option is to avoid.

 This have been said, the Nokia Catalogs remain an interesting alternative to grab new software for your mobile phone, you can browse the commercial software available by Nokia, there is also an option to access Handango Top applications and games. Of course Nokia freeware is always here for more freeware to download.
